November 24, 1997 WinMD5 for Windows 95 WinMD5 is freeware distributed by ING America, Inc. (www.ingamerica.com) WinMD5 will create a message digest file for any file you select. The message digest file is created by default in the same directory as the target file. WinMD5 will verify any message digest file and its corresponding target file. The message digest algorithm used is MD5, invented by Ron Rivest. The message digest code used was written by Colin Plumb in 1993 with no copyright claimed. It has been tested against the RSA Data Security, Inc., reference implementation, but does not use that implementation. The MD5SUM main program was written by Branko Lankester in 1993, and modified slightly by Colin Plumb. The getopt.c source code is public domain code from AT&T. 1 Requirement OS: Windows95 2 Installation (1) Run "MD5SETUP.EXE". 3 Usage 3.1 How to create digest (1) Select a file you would like to create digest for in Explorer.
